Times has flies and it’s been a long six years for Adam’s table tennis journey with Singapore Table Tennis Association (Hougang Zone Training Centre). Yesterday, I had prepared a farewell party for Adam. I know he has a very great interest in this sport and leaving the centre is going to be sad for him. But on the other side, his primary 5 school work has increased tremendously over the past two months and with the constant nagging from his mom, I think I am left with no choice but to pull him out from the centre.

Adam joined the STTA Zone Training Centre (Hougang) when he was in K2. I introduced this sport to him partly because I also play table tennis. I always think that this sport requires some technical thinking and reasonable expectation on the reaction when returning the serve. After some time, his interest grew over the years and he actually attended 7 days a week training for several years. I can see that he enjoy the sport a lot and I’m happy for him. I will continue to walk this journey with him as a Father and Son. I hope he can do the same for his kids in future.
